becoming the hummingbird

becoming the hummingbird
i drink
of the shooting star’s laughter

through her ear
i have listened
to the blink
of the snake

watched the presence
of stone
meeting wind
with the energy of atoms
radiating

in a very slow dance

i burst with joy
in the strength
of my fragility
as i dip
to greet my partner
spin afternoon sun
into waltz

with whirring wings
i feel
the grand mirth
of the heavens
stir ants
into tickling
the body
of the stone

creating

vast eons of incomprehensible
bliss
